The Lake City Columbia Community Tennis Association (LCCCTA) is a nonprofit, volunteer-based tennis organization dedicated to introducing young people to the game of tennis and creating opportunities for players in the Lake City and Columbia County community.

LCCCTA currently offers youth tennis camps and clinics for children interested in learning and developing their tennis skills. The organization also works to grow tennis in the Lake City and Columbia County area and has envisioned a 24-court tennis facility that could serve both local players and larger tournaments.

2026

LCCCTA held a three-week youth tennis camp from June 2–18, 2026. Thirty-six young players participated in the camp, enjoying an energetic experience filled with tennis, instruction and fun.

Dedicated coaches and volunteers led the morning sessions, with the camp made possible through sponsorship from the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida. The camp marked the 10th Montgomery Summer Youth Tennis Camp sponsored by YTF.

The camp concluded with a final “Tennis Challenge” day, giving players an opportunity to put their newly developed skills into action. Refreshments and YTF T-shirts were provided following the challenge.

Players ages 6–17 gained confidence, developed valuable tennis skills and discovered the enjoyment of a sport they can continue throughout their lives.

2025

LCCCTA held its ninth annual Montgomery Summer Youth Tennis Camp, sponsored by the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida. The three-week camp began June 3 and concluded June 19 with a Tennis Challenge celebration.

YTF logo towels were provided to all 30 participants as well as the seven coaches who helped make the camp possible.

LCCCTA volunteers included current and past Columbia High School tennis players, longtime local players and LCCCTA Board members. The volunteers worked with players divided into three ability-level groups.

PTR Coach Mark Mansbach directed the youth tennis camp, with LCCCTA volunteers assisting with the three ability-level groups. All LCCCTA after-school youth camps have been sponsored by the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida.

2024

LCCCTA held its eighth annual Montgomery Summer Youth Tennis Camp at the Young's Park tennis facility in Lake City from June 4–20. The camp was sponsored by the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida.

Nine coaches assisted 25 players who were divided into ability levels ranging from beginners to advanced players. Participants made significant progress in developing their tennis games throughout the camp.

The final day gave players an opportunity to put everything they had learned into practice through challenge matches.

2023

The Lake City Columbia Community Tennis Association's 2023 Fall Youth Tennis Camp was sponsored by the Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida throughout the month of October.

Thirty young tennis athletes participated in four weeks of instruction, learning new skills while sharpening the skills they already had. Participants ranged in age from 6 to 16.

Thanks to the support of YTF and a dedicated group of LCCCTA volunteers, the camp was a great success.
